...and now you've seen most of my knowledge of the Spanish language. Next, you can see a portion of my Monday afternoon:
I've certainly spent worse days.
So it's game day. This is my second trip to Estadio Azteca for a qualifier. I'm nervous, of course, for a number of reasons:
The game itself. Let's face it: this is Mexico at the Azteca against the US. Despite the win in last year's friendly, let's not forget that the US has never won a competitive match in Mexico. Jermaine Jones isn't here; his physical presence will definitely be missed in a game such as this, especially with such an inexperienced back line.
Travel to/from the game. Last time, I took public transit to the game with a large group of American fans. Of course, that game was at 3pm. This time, it's at 8:30pm. I think things will be ok, but it'll be a bit crazier going to the stadium during rush hour, never mind leaving the stadium so late.
Being in the stadium. You've all heard the rumors; most of them are true. There's nothing you can do about it but keep your head up and keep singing.
Eight hours to go. Time to get ready while listening to the duNord podcast. If you're here, I'll see you Salon Corona and at the stadium.
